Performance establishes a sensual connection between body and mind that ritualizes the performance space. Using masks, garments, sound, and repetition the brushstroke embodies breath and intention in live performances. Audiences are drawn into meditation and, for many, a spiritual experience.
A Healing Brush with Sound, two collaborative performances with Brian Ransom, in conjunction with a two person show, A Brush with Light + Sound, November 5 & 6, 2015, University of Central Florida Art Gallery
As the unique potential latent within the bristles unfolds and the interior quiet of ceramic vessels begin to echo, Grishkoff and Ransom explore performative aspects of the Artist's tool. The artwork becomes activated by the impulse into broad gestures and resonates sound.
